We now offer individual lessons on a variety to traditional instruments.

Specialising in the music and song of Northumberland, Scotland and Ireland

Instruments we can teach are:

Guitar:  beginners, intermediate plus more advanced with alternative tunings such as DADGAD

Irish Bouzouki:  beginners, intermediate in either standard octave mandolin or ADAD tuning

Mandolin:  beginners - advanced

Whistle: beginners - advanced

Folk or Celtic Harp: beginners - intermediate This is Caroline's speciality!

We can also help with improving your knowledge of musical theory. Some knowledge of theory makes life a lot easier when it comes to understanding the music.

If you are rank beginner or with some experience wanting to go a bit further then do get in touch. We like to take a relaxed and friendly approach to our teaching as playing music should be an enjoyable experience.

If you want to learn guitar it always helps if you are prepared to sing as most people use it as an accompaniment to singing.
Not neccessary but it does help. We believe most people can sing but the trouble is we are always comparing oursleves to others.

We can also help with singing and voice production as well, having studied singing at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music.

How much do we charge? We feel £10 per half hour is fair enough or for older students who can afford it, £20 per hour.

For younger students probably 1/2 hour is probably enough. It is up to you of course.

We have many years of experience teaching in Australia and the UK and many years as professional performers
